Jack Daniel celebrates its 150th Anniversary with limited-edition whisky

For the Jack Daniel Distillery’s 150^th anniversary, master distiller Jeff Arnett created a limited-edition whiskey that combines the Distillery’s traditional and modern-day whiskey craftmanship.

The 150^th Anniversary edition’s distinctive taste profile originates from the process of slow-toasting the barrels that brings out the rich flavors and aromas of the wood. It has flavors of butterscotch and toffee with a lingering, warm finish of toasted oak.

True to its traditional process, the grain bill for the anniversary whiskey is the same as the iconic Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7, consisting of 80 percent corn, 12 percent barley and 8 percent rye. The mixture was mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before going into specially crafted new American oak barrels. These barrels were placed in the “angel’s roost” of one of the oldest barrelhouses at the distillery, where whiskey has matured for generations at an elevation and with exposure to sunlight.

“We wanted to offer a unique whiskey that we think collectors and consumers alike will enjoy for their own celebrations and is as special as the anniversary that it celebrates,” says Arnett.

The 150^th anniversary whiskey’s suggested retail price is $99.99 for a 1L bottle.
