The fortified wine adds depth and richness with hints of dark fruit. Glass: Clear coffee cups Ingredients: 1 bottle Port 2 pcs lemon 16 cloves 5-6 oz. mixed spice syrup Directions for Mixed Spice Syrup: 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 cups water 2 cups sugar In a medium saucepan, heat the water and add all the spices and sugar. Stir the mixture until sugar is diluted. Set aside to cool. Pour in a jar and refrigerate for longer use. Directions for Lemon + Port: Cut one lemon in the center. Stud each segment of the lemon slice with the cloves. It will resemble a studded wheel. Warm in a pan over medium heat for 15 minutes. Pour the port over the lemon, bring to boil and turn off. Set aside. In a separate pan add water with a pinch of salt. Add mixed spice syrup and squeeze lemons in the mixture. Remove the cloved lemon from the pan. Combine the two mixtures. Garnish with lemon peels studded with cloves.
