Recipe by Clayton Paul G. Munar, bar manager at Buddha Bar Manila located at PICAR Place, Kalayaan Ave. Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City

I loved the story of Santa Claus coming through the chimney tops on Christmas—I grew up in Baguio and our house had a chimney (it’s mandatory lol)—giving gifts while the children are asleep. And I loved more the story of mothers keeping a glass of milk and cookies for him to eat. I thought, what if Santa wanted to booze up while on his around-the-world trip? So I just came up with the elements of this popular Christmas story, from the milk, cookies, and chocolates. Adding Johnnie Walker Gold for the vibrant notes of spices and serving it in a tall glass. Who knows, Santa may be putting my name on the ‘nice kids’ list permanently.”– Clayton

  • Glass: highball
  • Garnish: chocolate and white chocolate snow dust
  • Ice: cube

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml JW Gold Reserve
  • 15 ml chocolate cookie syrup
  • 30 ml Intramuros Liqueur de Cacao
  • 30 ml milk

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients in a shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake until foamy.
  3. Serve in a collins glass wrapped in Christmas sock

Tasting notes: There’s a familiar cocoa aroma with a dark chocolate toffee taste. Coffee lovers would enjoy this drink.
