“A kid has no worries. A kid just wants to have fun and play. Tonight in Dada Land, forget about all work and be a kid again– even just for one night.”

Those lines from Dada Life himself sums up a night of enjoyment without a care for most adults present in Cove Manila last March 16; it was nothing but good vibes as people raved to feel-good beats and music. To highlight the theme some more, Dada Life prepared an exciting segment throughout his set: a pillow fight!

Dada Life is popularly known as the Swedish DJ duo, Olle Cornéer, and  Stefan Engblom. They produced two albums already and have quite a number of singles and remixes. Dada Life is known for their humor whenever they perform, and, despite Olle Cornéer not being able to make it, their show in Manila was no exception and the two-day party started off with a hit.

As early as the door opened for guests, Cove Manila was already swarming with people looking for a nice spot for the main attraction. The event was opened by DJ Carlo Attendido as he hyped the crowd to get the mood going.

It was followed by a set by DJ Marc Marasigan, who spun various crowd-favorites that definitely got them dancing to their feet to smoothly open for Dada Life.

It was also during this time when most people pre-gamed and ordered drinks (and bottles), so they could just feel the moment when Dada Life played. One of the complimentary drinks available was their bestseller cocktail (Orange Fruit Juice with Vodka).

Time flew by quickly as DJ Marc Marasigan ended his set and the moment everybody was waiting for finally came. The wait did not disappoint as we entered Dada Land; Dada Life made it a point to fill everyone with excitement and enthusiasm from start to finish.

He played his top records like “Tonight We’re Kids Again,” “Kick Out the Motherfucker,” “So Young So High,” and, probably the most memorable, “One Smile.”

The mix of “One Smile” was definitely one of the tracks (if not the track) of the night as it was when people wore their smiling masks. “All you need is #OneSmile, we will give you all night” was on repeat as people danced with one smile—a beautiful and fun moment where everybody connected.

The fun didn’t stop there as banana and Champagne bottle inflatables were tossed around like beach balls. The Cove Manila is an indoor nature club, and it’s only fitting these inflatables were put to good (and fun) use!

The highlight of the first night of Dada Life’s party was concluded with a nostalgic childhood activity: pillow fights. Everybody grabbed a pillow of their own and played to their heart’s content with their friends and strangers alike.

Fact: The Dada Life party in Chicago successfully broke the Guinness World Record for the biggest pillow fight in the world with 3,800 participants. Manila’s Dada Life pillow fight didn’t have as many participants, but there’s no doubt that everybody enjoyed it just the same.

That was just the first night and people already had a blast. Swimsuits were prepared for Day 2 as the biggest and hottest Champagne shower party happened on March 17.
