The MaArTEA Afternoon Tea Collection is a supplementary fundraising activity of MaArte at The Pen 2018, an ultra-luxe bazaar highlighting the best in Filipino craftsmanship, highlighting jewelry, fashion, home linens, travel accessories, lamps, scents and accessories from top and emerging designers and artisans who create beautiful and unique pieces that support local communities. Something new to look forward to this year is the Pinoy Man Cave where exhibitors will come out with special lines just for men. MAArte at The Pen 2018 is a three-day affair that runs from August 10 to 12, 2018 and is an annual project of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. for the benefit of the National Museum of the Philippines. Now on its 10th edition, the MaArte Fair, organized by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., highlights the men in our lives by creating: Len Cabili’s Filip+Inna, Jojie Lloren for La Herminia Piña, Creative Definitions, Balay ni Atong, Natalya Lagdameo, and TDLG (Tweetie de Leon Gonzales). Throughout the month of August and until September 5, The Peninsula Manila Executive Chef Xavier Castello and his team have created a delicious selection of pastries and savories and paired them with the Tsa Alaya line of hot and cold teas using leaves and herbs picked from various regions of the Philippines to come up with the MaArTEA Afternoon Tea Collection. The Lobby will be serving a selection of organic MaArTEAs: Tropical Summer with mango and pineapple blended with lemongrass; Lemon Ginger with tanglad soothed by ginger, and turmeric; sweet Pandan; and cleansing Java Banaba with balbas pusa and banaba, all developed by Tsaa Laya. These will be accompanied by delicious savory nibbles that will include Poached prawn salad seasoned with celery, onions, garlic aioli, and pickled shallots; Smoked honeyed ham with kesong puti, heirloom tomatoes, and slathered with basil pesto; Lemongrass panna cotta; Davao chocolate ginger mousse; Peninsula English raisin scones served with pots of dalandan curd, Baguio strawberry jam, and clotted cream; and many more. MaArTEA Afternoon Tea will be served at The Lobby and is priced at P1,250 per guest or P1,850 with a flute of Champagne. On August 10 to 12, however, it will be served at The Upper Lobby on the second floor. Part of the proceeds raised from the MaArTEA Afternoon Tea will be donated to the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc.
