Sail through the hot and humid summer with your friends with Pirata, a refreshing and boozy take on your usual fruit shake. The combination of watermelon and mint helps quench thirst amidst record high summer temperatures and cools the body down, while the rum will do its job and make any gathering into a full-blown party.

Ingredients:

  • 120 ml watermelon and mint puree
  • 60 ml Plantation Rum
  • 90 ml simple syrup
  • 60 ml lime juice
  • 6 dashes Jerry Thomas bitters
  • lime zest

Directions:

  1. Carve a medium size watermelon and scoop out contents.
  2. Puree watermelon and mint.
  3. In a shaker, add lime zest and other ingredients.
  4. Add ice and roll. (Rolling a cocktail means pouring the mixture from one vessel to another.)
  5. Pour mixture into hollowed out watermelon pirate ship.
  6. Garnish and serve.
