Don Papa Rum is offering the next best thing with Sugarlandia Sessions, a musical experience that virtually takes you from your couch to the club. This weekly online series brings together local and international musical acts with unique sounds and diverse styles to give people an immersive yet transportive experience without leaving the house. Broadcasted through Don Papa’s Facebook and Instagram pages on Sundays at 8:30 pm, Sugarlandia Sessions, aims to provide the music community with a platform during these trying times while still supporting the fight against COVID-19. Sugarlandia Sessions also serves as a fundraiser. Viewers can choose which COVID-19 relief efforts they wish to support through this link. Sugarlandia Sessions kicked off last April 12 with international artists Italian-Filipino DJ Looka Barbi and Los Angeles DJ TomasMoves for its opening weekend. This Sunday, April 26, music lovers can look forward to several top-notch performers who will take you on a musical journey. Terno Recordings brings together an eclectic mix of bands to let the audience experience a multitude of moods and emotions Up Dharma Down Formed in 2004, Up Dharma Down (UDD) has become one of the most popular bands in the country, and has received widespread acclaim both locally and abroad with their musical style. Popular Days Popular Days is a dream pop/shoegaze quartet band based in Manila famous for their songs Gossamer Days, Charming You, and their latest single, Lost in Space. Unmute Mainly inspired by psychedelic rock, post-rock, and shoegaze music genres, Unmute is a Filipino band known for their grungy and bittersweet tones. Lenses Indie jazz-pop band Lenses are most recognized for their songs ‘Nasanay’ and ‘Pagbisita Mo.’ Aoui Crowd favorite Filipino post-rock band Aoui is famous for their songs ‘Recess’, ‘For Now’, and ‘All Good’. DJ Looka Barbi Internationally-renowned DJ Looka Barbi is an Ibiza-based Filipino-Italian DJ who has a passion for making an entire crowd move in a single rhythm and creating a unique, shared vibration that his audience can get lost in. missBadKiss DJ BadKiss has her roots in Funk, Soul, and R’n’B and has developed a strong reputation in the club and dance scene for her quality music selection that transcends genres and generations. Get lost in the beats of live electronic artist Abdel Aziz and get your fill of soul, disco, and a modern flavor of house on May 3.
