Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Pinterest If you’re curious about how to make cocktails and want to learn the fundamentals, check out OuttaCuriosity‘s online modular workshop, The General Science of Bartending. You’ll get to learn the basics of making cocktails and more, from the safety and comfort of your own homes. The course covers three modules with two sessions per week. The first module covers the bartending fundamentals and techniques, followed by spirits profiling and flavor pairing, and the workshop ends with a module on cocktails, where you get to make your own signature serve. The workshop is ideal for bartenders, aspiring bartenders, and drink enthusiasts. The modular approach allows the participants to focus on each aspect of the bartending topics to be covered and gives them the space to have a deeper understanding of the science being applied. And this set-up lets participants join the only modules they’re interested in (although taking the full course is highly encouraged). Bartender Ian Libang created OuttaCuriosity as a platform for blogs, news, events, reviews, consultations, and information about cocktails, the bar industry, and the craft of bartending. He decided to hold a cocktail workshop during quarantine to spread the love for the craft. “I aim to inform, educate, and share all the learning, I and my collaborators and guests acquired from years of experience” Ian shares. “This is to spread knowledge within the bar industry as well as excite enthusiasts and hobbyists into falling more in love with the bartending profession and craft.” OuttaCuriosity’s Ian Libang The workshop only accepts a limited number of participants, and Ian stresses that this is not a webinar. “I want to make it a smaller group,” Ian explains. “Where we can guide our attendees and be more hands-on, making sure everyone is catching all the knowledge that we impart to them. Plus, the workshop is a two-way learning system which will open up a broad discussion and understanding of our subjects.” Ian is collaborating with Larry Guevarra of Liquid Concepts Philippines for this workshop because they share a similar outlook on the profession. “We pretty much have the same vision: to spread the love for our craft and somehow inspire more people to work the best job ever,” he says. “With more than 17 years of experience in the bar industry, Larry has seen the growth of our cocktail scene. I am sure he will throw tons of ideas and knowledge that are perfect for the workshop.” Liquid Concept Philippines’ Larry Guevara OuttaCuriosity’s The General Science of Bartending online modular workshop is from August 1 to 19, where there will be two sessions a week for three weeks. The full course is being offered at a discounted price of Php 2,700 and each module is Php 1,000. Everyone attending the workshop will get certificates as well as an exclusive 10% discount on Bar Smith’s Cocktail Tool Kits designed especially for the workshop.
