Now in its 20th year, the Grand Wine Experience has grown into one of the most-awaited drinking events in the country. This year’s theme is Bud Break, the term used to describe the first stage of the grapevine’s annual cycle, when dormant buds burst into life and produce new shoots. This sets the stage for a night that goes beyond the ordinary and captures that vibe of renewal and optimism. The event also marks the 48th anniversary of Philippine Wine Merchants (PWM), the family-owned wines and spirits importation and distribution company of the Joseph brothers that’s behind the Grand Wine Experience. With over 1000 wines, spirits, sakes, and beers from across the globe, carefully curated by experts, this is where connoisseurs and enthusiasts converge. It’s not just about the drinks; it’s also a gastronomic adventure. So expect exquisite dishes, perfectly complementing the libations and elevating the entire experience. The GWE differs from other drink expos, as there is no selling component. It’s more of a big party where people drink and eat and mingle and have fun to their heart’s content for a night. The good thing is that while Philippine Wine Merchants is the one responsible for this momentous event, the featured wines and spirits aren’t just from their company. Different suppliers from the spirit and wine industry will come together for this event. The event marks two decades of excellence and innovation. As the hospitality industry reopens after a challenging period, this Grand Wine Experience celebrates resilience and is a testament to the enduring spirit of the industry. The 20th Grand Wine Experience will take place on November 17, 2023, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport World Resorts. Doors open at 5 pm, and the festivities last until midnight.
