15 Bars in Asia Make it to The World’s 50 Best Bars List

Atlas in Singapore is once again named the best bar in Asia, landing the fourth spot in this year’s The World’s 50 Best Bars list, which was topped by London’s Connaught Bar.

Entries were chosen by more than 500 international voters made up of cocktails and spirits writers, well-traveled cocktail experts, bartenders, and bar owners from 20 regions around the world. The much-awaited announcement of this prestigious list was revealed via a virtual ceremony last night, to the delight of cocktail lovers everywhere.

Asia continues its strong showing with 15 entries. This year also marks the debut of the following bars in The World’s 50 Best Bars list: Charles H in Seoul (49), Bar Trigona in Kuala Lumpur (44), and The Bamboo Bar in Bangkok at 35. Mexican-inspired cocktail bar COA in Hong Kong rose from last year’s 49th spot to this year’s 8th and was handed the Highest Climber award, while Bar High Five in Tokyo (48) earned the Legend of the List award.

One of the goals for this year’s event was to bring positivity and highlight the efforts made by the bar industry to adapt, survive, and thrive as businesses have been struggling due to the global pandemic.

“We hope that revealing this year’s ranking will give the bars on this year’s list some reward and recognition for their hard work and in turn give the world’s media an optimistic story to share about the hospitality industry,” says Mark Sansom, content editor of The World’s 50 Best Bars.
