The holiday season really brings out the spirit of giving in everyone. Our friends at Tito’s Handmade Vodka recently launched its Food for Friends Program in the Philippines. Tito’s, made at Texas’ oldest legal distillery, Fifth Generation Inc., aims to deliver over 300 free meals to people in the local food and beverage industry affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through Love, Tito’s, the brand’s philanthropic arm on a mission to turn spirits into love and goodness.

“Many of us forget that the service industry is a relationship-based business,” says the distributor of Tito’s in the Philippines, Frank Kona Shrope of Liquor.PH, on the Food for Friends program. “At the end of the day, we have to help each other out, especially in times like this. When bars and restaurants started shutting down across Manila as early as March, I started worrying about the people who always took care of my friends and I. I have come to personally know so many workers in the industry who no longer have a stable income due to circumstances outside of their control. We know that a good meal doesn’t necessarily change those circumstances, but it is a concrete reminder that Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Liquor.PH have not and will never forget our service industry family.”

With the global pandemic hitting the F&B and hospitality industry especially hard, Tito’s Handmade Vodka looks to provide these hard-hit workers with a comforting meal. Participating restaurants for this run include Draft Gastropub, Wingman, and KAMPAI. Registration for this leg of the initiative will be through December 26 and all meals will be available for in-person pick-up or delivery on December 28th and 29th.

Participants of the program are encouraged to share their experience online and using the hashtag #TitosFFF and tagging @liquor.ph on Instagram or @LiquorPH on Facebook. There are two 750 ml bottles of Tito’s Handmade Vodka up for grabs: one bottle for those who post pictures of their meals with the correct social media tags, and a second one for those who opt for an in-person pick up.

The Tito’s Food for Friends program will have another run in early 2021. Follow Liquor.PH on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
