This recipe is a great cocktail for afternoon happy hour. Surprise your friends with this sweet and sour Old Fashioned twist.


  • 60 ml Bacardi 8
  • 15 ml Calamansi Shrub
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • Dehydrated calamansi wheels


  1. Chill glass with ice and set aside.
  2. Add all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, and stir
  3. Strain in a rock glass with ice.
  4. Garnish with dehydrated calamansi wheels

How to make the shrub:

  • 250 g calamansi wheels (deseeded)
  • 250 g raw sugar
  • 1 tbsp pink peppercorns, crushed
  • 250 ml cane vinegar or to taste
  1. Put calamansi and pink peppercorns in a bowl and cover in sugar.
  2. Cover and leave for at least 24 hours.
  3. Add cane vinegar and strain.
