Gin is still the “in” spirit of the moment, and there are no signs of it slowing down any time soon. With the number of available products growing steadily, gin and tonic buffets, gin promotions, and gin bars popping up all over the metro, gin is shaping up to be the drink for today’s generation.

The Bar Pink Gin, Premium Dry Gin, Lime Gin

Emperador Distillers Inc., makers of Emperador Brandy, the number one brandy in the world, launched a new gin to carve its name in the local gin scene–The Bar Premium Gin. Infused with imported botanicals from Spain (juniper, thyme, mint, coriander, orris root, grapefruit, and almond), The Bar is an exciting gin with delicious bursts of flavor not found in other local gin products.

The Bar comes in three variants–Pink Gin with delicious berries, Green Gin with refreshing zesty lime, and a clear Premium Dry Gin that takes you through the flavorful world of botanicals. They come in pretty bottles with label designs that give a glimpse of what to expect once you take a sip. You can enjoy the spirit in a variety of ways: mix with tonic or your preferred lime soda and add some herbs and spices to kick it up a notch, or enjoy them on the rocks and savor the notes of its botanicals.

Celebrities, local influencers, members of the industry, and gin enthusiasts braved the impending typhoon and flocked to The Island BGC on September 12 for The Bar Pink Gin Party. Everyone came in their perfect berrylicious pink attires to welcome The Bar as a new addition to the local drinking scene.

Attendees enjoyed the photo session with photographers Andrea Beldua, Andrei Suleik, and Jeff Ong at three photo walls that represented each of the three gins–green brick for Lime, tropical foliage for Premium, and pink neon industrial for Pink. Guests were encouraged to take their snapshots at the photo walls for a chance to win awesome prizes.

The Bar served custom gin and tonics to the thirsty crowd with various garnishes to choose from–classic lime and lemon, grapefruit, pink peppercorns, thyme, cucumber, and strawberries. Experimentation was encouraged as guests sampled a variety of combinations to their liking.

Here are our G&T suggestions:

The Bar Premium Dry Gin has floral, juniper notes, and a grapefruit finish. It’s perfect with a slice of grapefruit or cucumber, or even just a lemon wedge. It holds itself well against stronger flavors, so even bolder garnishes like green bell pepper complement this gin superbly. It is a gin you can really experiment your garnishes with.

The Bar Lime Gin is a zesty, spicy gin, and would go great with just a lime wedge or peel.

The Bar Pink Gin was the crowd’s favorite, with its pretty pink hue and sweet berry taste makes it a ready to drink cocktail. So have it over lots of ice if you want to keep it simple, or lean into the berry flavor by adding strawberries and cucumber to your G&T.

The Bar is the new kid in gin town, and it’s definitely going to be a staple in barkada drinking sessions from now on. The best part is, it’s super affordable, each 700 ml bottle retails at Php95 and can be found in 7-Eleven, and will soon be available in other convenience stores and leading supermarkets. If you prefer to shop online, you can get The Bar exclusively on Boozy.ph.
