It’s official; the rainy season is finally here after a loooong season of summer. With the temperature going down, the cold weather demands for warming drinks. Enjoy this non-alcoholic version of mulled wine, minus the wine and a lot of fruity and spiced goodness in a warming drink. Serve it hot in the morning or at night. It’s sweet, sour, and surprising!

Ingredients

240 ml unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup granny smith apple, cut to chunks
1/4 cup fresh pineapple chunks
15 ml agave syrup
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/2 grated lemon peel
3-4 whole cloves
1 small cinnamon bark
1/2 cup water

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine pineapple juice, green apple chunks, fresh pineapple chunks, agave syrup, grated orange peel, lemon peel, cloves, cinnamon bark, and water.
Mix well.
Simmer for five minutes.
Strain into a teapot.
Serve hot with dehydrated or candied pineapple.
