Every corner of the bar represented various eras from ’20s, ’70s, ’90s, and 2010s to represent Johnnie Walker’s milestones over the years. Walk into the ’90s when everything is in pop and bubblegum hues Dance with the flapper girls at the ’20s inspired corner Johnnie Walker’s Vintage Design Collection comes in retro limited edition packaging representing iconic eras of the brand—1929 with Johnnie Walker Red Label, 1970 for Johnnie Walker Black Label, 1996 for Johnnie Walker Double Black, and 2019 for Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve. 2019 for Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, 1996 for Johnnie Walker Double Black, 1970 for Johnnie Walker Black Label, and 1929 with Johnnie Walker Red Label The design for Johnnie Walker Red Label 1929 is the year when the iconic Striding Man changed its coat in red color representing the symbol as a new persona. The year 1970, represented in the Johnnie Walker Black Label, is the era when the brand became a pop culture icon in a time of change and newness, when people became more expressive and adventurous choices in fashion, movies, and music. The Johnnie Walker Double Black stands in stark color contrast with the rest of the collection as it takes us back to 1996, the TV and VHS era, and the climb towards the digital age. Finally, the 2019 design for Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, the year marks the 111th anniversary of Johnnie Walker’s iconic Striding Man, and it celebrates the present and the future. From the Jazz Age to the Digital Age, Johnnie Walker never goes out of style. Starting from its humble beginnings in a small grocer store in Scotland, to its iconic status as the #1 Scotch whisky in the world today, Johnnie Walker continues to be a well-loved brand for every generation. “Johnnie Walker has been doing a lot of progressive and modern things, the #JohnnieWeekend Series, the Johnnie Walker House, and the White Walker by Johnnie Walker bottle being just some of them,” shares Fatima Espineda, Marketing Manager for Culture and Advocacy of Diageo Philippines. “But despite all that, Johnnie Walker has never lost sight of its heritage, and that’s why we chose to celebrate it with the Vintage Design Pack Collection,” she adds. During its unveiling party, guests enjoyed a festive array of sights from the elaborately decorated rooms per decade complemented by beats from August Wahh, CRWN, Jess Connelly, Emel Rowe, and Sam Nicole, and New York’s Studio 54’s former resident DJ Nicky Sian. Overflowing craft drinks were available in various pop-up bars all throughout the venue manned by talented local bartenders Lester Ligon (Diageo Reserve World Class Philippine Bartender of the Year for 2018), David Abalayan (Diageo Reserve World Class Philippine Bartender of the Year for 2019), Ian Libang, and Shinichi Itoh among others.
