If your ideal cup of joe must be brewed fresh and perfectly, but the thought of preparing it yourself is painstaking enough, what with deadlines and chores encumbering both shoulders, then fret not as new online options are now available.

These convenient alternatives are the perfect solution to coffee lovers in this time of quarantine.

The Curator

The Curator is one interesting establishment that has evolved with a futuristic mindset involving specialty coffee and craft cocktails. Recently named Best Bar in the Philippines and landing on the 42nd spot on this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars, The Curator is known for its menu that adjusts to the ebb and flow of time and the needs of it’s customers. The Curator has all the more prepped up to reach its loyal clientele, and find new ones too, even during this ongoing pandemic.

They use coffee beans from their sister company, EDSA Beverage Design Group. For the espresso-based drinks, it’s the Dark Matter Theory signature blend, comprised of Rwanda Lake Kivu Kigeyo and Colombia Planadas Tolima. It has a taste profile of dark chocolate, salted caramel, almonds and cherry.

They have a fruitier blend with hints of chocolate covered blueberries and orange marmalade called Purple Haze. It’s a blend of Ethiopia Halu Beriti G1 and Burundi Mutsinda Kayanza. The beans used for their B.O.D. (Brew of the Day) are single origin beans, depending on the seasonal offering of EDSA BDG.

(L to R) Mocha (Php 200) The signature blend takes on a different experience with the inclusion of chocolate on the palate; Cold Brew (Php 180) As gloriously explained above, you will experience the luxurious Dark Matter Theory signature blend of tastes in it’s divine essence; Espresso with Milk (Php 200) The coffee base is infused with milky smoothness (photo by Studio Cantero)

They also have an interesting drink called Shake-O-What-O (Php 160), a shaken drink that has espresso, milk, coconut sugar and cold brew, that’s only for curbside pick-up.

If you want to get naughty, and have the best of both caffeine and spirits combined, have a sip (or a gulp) of their Café Milano (Php 1,100). It has Campari, coffee-infused Vermouth, Frangelico, black walnut bitters, tonic water.

Cafe Milano – Each order provides three servings per bottle and includes two bottles of tonic water.

Nitro 7 Coffee & Tea

Be your own barista with the Nitro 7 Cold Brew Kit. The kit provides two Nitro 7 Signature Black Cold Brew Coffee bottles (500 ml per bottle) paired with your choice of two Nitro 7 mix-ins (250ml each) — Hazelnut Caramel Mocha, Peppermint Mocha, Irish Creme, or Chocolate Macadamia. At only Php 890, this kit can make six to seven cups of goodness!

Nitro 7’s coffee base is made up of single origin Ethiopian Arabica beans brewed at 18 hours in cold temperature, which increases the caffeine content but lessens the acidity. It is then infused with nitrogen the next day. This reduces the bitter taste, and thickens the texture of the coffee while mildly sweetening it. Note that nitrogen-infused coffee shoots up the caffeine content by approximately 30%. Cold brew is stronger than regular brewed, plus the nitrogen makes this a double punch!

(L – R) Irish Creme – Inspired by Irish whiskey, cream, and other savory ingredients like vanilla, almond extract, and chocolate. There’s no alcohol, but it teases the tongue; Peppermint Mocha – A crowd classic winner, the minty fresh taste merged with mocha is a marriage for keeps; Hazelnut Caramel Mocha – The distinct flavors surface with every refreshing sip like the nuttiness of the hazelnut; Chocolate Macadamia – Devilishly sweet is an understatement. This mix-in is an excellent mid-day dessert treat.

Yardstick Coffee

Yardstick Coffee has been at the forefront of coffee for quite some time. They’ve sailed and conquered the caffeinated seas with a bold and daring perspective to bring exquisite flavors coffee drinkers delightfully clamor for. Thankfully, the pandemic will not keep customers away from their favored fixes. Their Cold Brew is available for takeout or delivery (Php 1,000 for 6 bottles/ 350ml per bottle). Taken unadulterated, your senses will feast on the flavors of tablea, roasted almonds and butterscotch. It is velvety, bold, and rich.

If you want a saccharine touch, try the Cold Naughty Latte (Php 200 per bottle/ 350 ml per bottle), a drink launched during the quarantine period, because Yardstick figured out that “sugar” seemed to uplift the quarantine-mood. This selection tastes like something Willy Wonka could’ve created — a melted perfection of milk chocolate bar with almonds drizzled with caramel plunged into coffee. The coffee base of the mentioned drinks uses the Golden Ticket blend of Brazil and Colombian arabica beans..

Coffee Colab

Coffee Colab‘s main vision is to collaborate with small businesses and provide their clients with specialty coffee. Temporarily closed due to the pandemic, they’ve also bottled their masterpiece creations made available through delivery. Because the products are freshly made and don’t have preservatives, the bottled coffee are limited to an awesome threesome:

Specialty Cold Brew (Php 150 for 300ml)
Specialty beans from their favorite roaster are steeped for 12-16 hours to bring out the complexity of the coffee bean’s flavor profile (half and half of a Rwanda Kigeyo and Colombian Planadas Tolima bean blend, otherwise known as Dark Matter Theory, a signature espresso blend).
